Collision Repair

This program provides instruction in collision repair, frame and wheel alignment, body panel repair, flexible parts repair and refinishing, fiberglass repair, interior trim and glass replacement, enamel refinishing, urethane single-stage base coat/clear coat refinishing, spot and panel repairs, rust repair, and estimating. Students will analyze all types of body damage and then restore vehicles to their original appearance. Emphasis is placed on the legal method of unibody repair according to the latest l-CAR standards.

First-year students receive an overview of body finishing, which includes sanding, applying body filler, finishing and polishing cars, masking and painting cars, repairing small dents, working with fiberglass and welding.

Second-year students learn bodywork, matching colors, estimating repair costs, restoration and painting.

Did you know?

Body repair work has both variety and challenges; each damaged vehicle presents a different problem. Students successfully completing this class will have met I-Car requirements, which is a nationally recognized certification.
